Bar Mitzvah Centerpieces with hockey theme... Hockey Centerpieces Step-by-step pg.1 Step-by-step pg.2 Finished Project HOCKEY THEME CENTERPIECES - Every once in awhile, an odd request comes along. One came along from a good customer to make hockey centerpieces for her son's Bar Mitzvah celebration. She didn't like anything she found on the Internet. Her son is a devout New Jersey Devils fan so the theme was a no brainer. In a moment of insanity I accepted the task. I thought it would be a fun task, different from the normal jobs.
With nothing to go on except the request and a couple plastic hockey sticks, I had to create a master centerpiece (14 of them). Soon I was asking myself why I committed to this. The vision for the completed pieces was in my mind. Now to find the materials to make it happen, since theory and reality don't always mesh. Nearly everything was purchased at the local Craft Store or at Lowes. The sticks and pucks were purchased online. The local rental center blew up and delivered the balloons to the reception hall for us to put them on. Here is a list of what I used in the creation of the centerpieces:
Looking at the parts list, you're probably shaking your head. I know a few people were. The centerpiece people are shaking their heads...plywood roofing clips and silicone caulk? This is what happens when you hire a remodeler to make centerpieces. If you're interested, click on the next page to actually see the step-by-step process of making the hockey centerpieces (pictures included).

If things are not working out, put it away and come back to it. Don't frustrate yourself. A few hours of a day away from it can make a world of difference in relocating your creative talents.
